In one section of the Pemigewasset River there was a large area of flat rock that could be explored while the river flowed around it. At the edge of the rocks there were autumn leaves falling into a thin layer of water. Eventually the leaves were being forced to move and being washed away by the river's powerful current. I decided to try to take a close up shot of a single leaf that was in a thin layer of water with the river's water running behind. Because I was so close to water, I was trying to avoid placing my camera on the ground. After a serious of tripod configurations, I had no choice but to place the camera down on the ground with extreme caution and use the timer. I am hoping it was worth all the trouble.
